The Mado Watch designed by Michael Graves Design

Mado Watch, the Japanese word for window is a fitting name for this watch because it allows the wearer to see something that was previously unseen. Similar to how a window awards an individual the chance to see something that was previously out of view, Mado opens a portal in which time is seen in a new light.

The “square peg in a round hole” idiom is a fitting description for the MADO watch because it artfully communicates the individuality that we all yearn to express. When seen on a wrist, the age old geometric relationship between circle and square transforms into a plain of coexistence. The daily act of telling time becomes immediate, focused, and magnified.  This is achieved by wedging the square black dial, with its unique engraving pattern, into the circular brushed stainless steel bezel.  This watch creates a perfectly proportioned window through which time is viewed. The watch dial is punctuated by high-contrast, stamped numerals (taken from an original font designed by the late Michael Graves) that appear to hover within the crystal lens.

The Mado Watch is a unisex 40mm diameter size case.  It is made of brushed stainless steel and is complemented with a black silicone band with stainless steel buckle.

Mado is the proud winner of the 2017 GOOD DESIGN AWARD

It measures 10″ from end to end with 7″ to the closest hole and 8 3/4″ inches from the farthest hole and is a unisex watch measuring 40mm (1.57″) in diameter and 7.6mm (0.30″) high. It is made of a brushed stainless steel and comes with a 20mm (3/4″) black silicone band.
