Design Concepts by Joan Ellis

This ornament is from a series of Princeton historic landmark ornaments.  These beautiful gold plated solid brass ornaments are certain to become a treasured heirloom.

Morven, the former Governor's Mansion, is frequently described as New Jersey's most historic home.  In 1701 Richard Stockton, the elder, purchased a tract of land from William Penn.  In 1759, Richard Stockton, his grand-son, and a signer of the Declaration of Independence, built the 18th century mansion on 600 acres of this land, later called Morven by his wife, Annis Stockton.  The President of the Continental Congress, Elias Boudinot, brother of Annis Stockton, chose Morven as his residence.
